Zippity Zoo Fest 2026

The Zippity Zoo Fest is a yearly celebration of the Baton Rouge Zoo’s birthday that was held this year on the weekend of March 28, 2026. The club has participated for the last 3 years with last year being a partial washout. But this year the weather and people were great! The members cut out animal figures from 2×4’s and have the kids drill holes in the top to make pencil holders. They could then take the pencil holders home and paint them if desired. Along with the animal figures we also made the same patterns in small wooden pendants on a laser machine. The kids could then drill a hole in the pendant, pick the ribbon color to put through the hole and tie the pendant around their neck. We had plenty of smiles!

Thanks to the members that volunteered and created so many smiles! We gave away around 330 holders and probably more pendants than that.
