SAWMILL – Club members Art Miller and Harold Choate along with Todd Shupe went to see a sawmill Tommy Trueil built.   He built the sawmill over the last 4 years.  It is powered by a 60 horsepower gasoline motor driving a hydraulic pump.  All the controls and accessories are hydraulic.  It will cut up to about 30″ diameter logs.  In addition to the sawmill, the Trueil’s have a solar powered lumber drying kiln that they also built.  It has 4 solar powered fans that pull air through the drying chamber to speed up the drying process. They spent about 2 hours getting acquainted with the family and watching the sawmill operate.  Harold says they are really great people and have a very impressive operation.
