Boy Scout 888: Eagle Scout Project – Donation Box for the Dog Adoption House

[3/25/2019 Update: Added pictures from George’s Eagle Scout Awarding Ceremony]

George Hendrick, a senior at Baton Rouge High School and member of Boy Scout Troop 888 in Baton Rouge, has been working on a project to benefit the Baton Rouge community, in fulfillment for the highest Boy Scout rank, that of Eagle Scout. George wanted to do something to benefit The Dog Adoption House – Friends of the Animals Baton Rouge. What they needed was was a tall, heavy coin donation box to encourage donations to benefit The Dog Adoption House.

George contacted the BRWC to request assistance to help him take his design concept for the donation box and bring it to life. BRWC Members Jeff Springer and Drew Kumiega volunteered to help George with his project.

Here are a few pictures showing the project going from the planning stage, thru construction and to the placement at the Dog Adoption House:

[3/25/19 update] We are happy to learn that George completed all the other requirements to attain Eagle Scout rank, and he was awarded the Eagle Scout Badge on March 24, 2019 at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Boy Scout Troop 888.
