  • Vice-President – George Campagna- Copies of the 2023 meeting schedule and skill topics were passed out. George reviewed the locations and people who would do the skill topic presentations for the year.
  • Secretary – Harold Choate- 17 people attended November’s meeting, 42 people are on roll. Harold reported on the details of the club’s Facebook page. Harold read the book “Going with the Grain” about the Greenville, SC woodworkers club. He was particularly impressed with the shop they have for members to use and the fact that they emphasize Community Service as one of the cornerstones of their club.
  • Treasurer – Rick Albrecht- please contact Rick for details.
  • Webmaster – Open
  • Community Service – Lee Owens- There are a couple of projects at present. Foot Lockers for One Touch Ministries, outdoor benches for St. Joseph’s House. One of the benches was shown at the meeting. Jack Carmena and Lee Owens built the benches at Lee’s shop. Jack described how the vertical pieces were built and that One Touch planned to paint the benches. Cypress was used to build them. It came from Brazos Forest Products. Lee Soileau and Bob Bewick built the other bench. His team used dowell joints instead of the way Lee and Jack built theirs. Both benches look the same even tho different techniques were used. Lee’s bench was built at Bob Bewick’s shop. The plans for the project came from the internet. O’Brien House just approved a project estimate for 20 each 4 drawer dressers. O’Brien House is a drug rehabilitation house. These dressers are going into the Women’s unit. The dressers will be made with Red Oak wood, stained and finished with polyurethane. We will have signups at the January meeting. There is no specific schedule.
  • Education Outreach – Open

New and Ongoing Club Business

  • 2023 Activity Overview- Richard would like to have a more organized approach in making the bird house kits. If we want to use a different birdhouse that’s ok but we need to get approval from the whole club. He would like to have a coordinator so all the details are attended. We may have a training session for SketchUp. We would also like to have a field trip as a different type of activity for the club. He described the field trip to the plywood manufacturer as an example.
